Based in Charlotte, Ben is a litigator representing individuals and businesses in complex cases from start to finish.

In awarding fees to Ben’s clients in several cases, the North Carolina Business Court said that Ben had proven himself “very able in this litigation while handling complicated legal questions and a large universe of discoverable documents.” In a trade secret theft case, the Business Court recognized that Ben and his team have “significant experience in complex business litigation matters and have shown great ability in investigating Defendants’ misconduct, addressing complicated legal issues, and prosecuting the Second Sanctions Motion.” In a shareholder records dispute, the Business Court said that “but for the tenacity and thorough review by [Allen Chesson], full production would not have been obtained.”

Ben graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2007 where he was inducted in the Order of the Old Well. He then graduated from the Wake Forest University School of Law in 2010 where he was a Carroll W. and Mary Parks Weathers Scholar and Editor on the Wake Forest Law Review.

He is admitted to practice in all of the state courts in North Carolina, including the Business Court, Court of Appeals, and Supreme Court. He is also admitted to practice in all federal courts in North Carolina, along with the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Ben started his career in the Washington DC office of America’s oldest law firm litigating high stakes financial cases.  Before opening Allen Chesson, Ben was a partner at a national law firm that America’s largest companies called on to defend them in their biggest product liability cases.
